Profile
Architect and technology leader with more than 20 years of experience across complex business domains: retail, transport, insurance, energy/offshore and shipping. Background in software engineering, followed by work in solution, domain and enterprise architecture.
The work has increasingly focused on where strategy meets execution: product orientation, organisational design, ownership and responsibility, team autonomy, governance, architecture and technology. The most interesting problems are usually the ones where these influence each other.
A particular strength is building useful understanding of an unfamiliar business domain quickly, identifying the concepts and dependencies that matter, and applying that understanding to architecture and organisational decisions. Starts with the problem and the business context, not with the solution.

Current role
REMA 1000 / Relations
Leads architecture work across products and domains in Relations. Responsible for architectural direction, principles and coherence across business, organisational and technical concerns.
- Works on the evolution of Relations from a programme-oriented setup towards a product-oriented organisation, covering product and responsibility boundaries, ownership, decision authority and governance.
- Helps create the conditions for teams to operate more autonomously while keeping a shared strategic direction.
- Cross-cutting architecture spanning identity, consent, loyalty, data, integration, security and external collaboration.
- Contributes to strategy, architecture decisions, risk, needs and prioritisation.
- Works with practical and governed use of AI in product development and knowledge work.
Domain Architect / Chief Architect, Traffic Flow & Preparedness
2023–2025
Statens vegvesen (Norwegian Public Roads Administration)
Domain architect and chief architect for the Traffic Flow & Preparedness product area, which covered four autonomous product teams.
- Responsible for target architecture, architectural governance and alignment across the teams.
- Member of the product area leadership group (PLG).
- Took part in the organisational transformation from project orientation to product areas: organisation and responsibilities, team autonomy, and collaboration and dependencies between product areas.
- Combined regulatory requirements with modern product development.
Solution Architect
2022–2023
Statens vegvesen (Norwegian Public Roads Administration)
Lead solution architect for national incident management systems, focused on modernising and extending existing mission-critical platforms.
Senior Developer & Architect
2019–2022
Statens vegvesen (Norwegian Public Roads Administration)
Architecture and development for the Norwegian Road Traffic Control Center. Distributed and event-driven solutions for incident handling and operational traffic management.
Senior Developer
2022
If Skadeforsikring
Modernisation of core insurance systems, moving from monolithic solutions towards an Azure-based, service-oriented architecture.
Senior Developer & Architect
2019
Equinor
Architecture and development of analytical solutions for subsurface data, including secure authentication flows using Azure AD B2C and custom identity policies.
Senior Developer & Architect
2012–2019
Knowit / 4Subsea / various clients
Architecture and development across multiple clients and domains, frequently with responsibility for the overall solution architecture and identity strategy.
- Authentication, identity and membership platforms.
- Reporting solutions.
- Integration-heavy enterprise systems.
- Working across many client organisations built the ability to get up to speed quickly in unfamiliar organisations and domains.
Earlier leadership experience
MVisjon
Leadership in a company of five people, including personnel responsibility.
Epistemhuset
Responsible for the .NET development department, with around four to five people.
Restaurant operations
Ran two restaurants before the IT career, with personnel responsibility for up to 20 employees.
Selected transformation and improvement work
Product orientation in Relations
The transition from programme orientation to product orientation: product boundaries, ownership, governance and room for team autonomy.
From projects to product areas at Statens vegvesen
Part of the organisational transformation towards product areas and autonomous teams, including how product areas collaborate and handle dependencies.
Traffic Flow & Preparedness
Architecture responsibility across four product teams in a national, mission-critical domain.
Identity and digital ecosystems
Long-running work with identity, access management and integration across organisations and technology generations, using OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, Azure AD B2C, Auth0 and federated identity. Identity sits where security, integration and organisational ownership meet, and has to be designed with all three in view.
AI in product development
Practical and governed use of AI, with attention to usefulness, quality, risk, cost and human control.
